Music Council
|
The Macdonald Music Council is here to serve all you music students out there, and to make your experience at Mac even better! Our council is run by student executives and our two staff advisors, both of whom are music teachers. We meet every Friday at 3:30 pm, with a council of about twenty students. Throughout the year, we organize fundraisers for the students, including Citrus, Cookie Dough, and Valentine’s Day sales. The Ty-Mac Music Camp is one of the best events in our school year, and the music council organizes all of the evening activities! We also have two Ty-Mac dances throughout the year, one in each term. These dances take places at J.B. Tyrrell, one of Macdonald's feeder schools, and they are for all Ty-Mac students. In December, there are two nights of concerts in the Macdonald auditorium, which is decorated by us. The council coordinates visits to elderly homes for the holiday season as well. We help bring the year to a wonderful close with our May events. There are two other concerts which we help with, and we have our annual Music Banquet. The Music Banquet fun is a night of dinner, dance, awards, and remembrance of the year that has past. We hope that our help and events throughout the year will help enrich the experience of all the music students at Macdonald, and we are looking forward to the amazing year ahead!
