There are three teachers in the department, all of whom hold Honours Specialists in Geography. The geography department utilizes geotechnologies at all levels, from grade nine to World Issues.

Highlights

MAC Geography has hosted the TDSB Skills Canada competition for G.I.S. in 2012. In previous years MAC was represented at the Provincial level. In 2011 MAC was well represented in the Canadian National Parks Poster competition with a few students making it to the calendar. The Great Canadian Geography Challenge is held in the Winter of each year for the grade 9 and grade 10 students all over Canada. We are fortunate to have had students from the school at the Provincial competition over the years.

Many field studies are offered in the Geography Department at Macdonald. They provide students with an opportunity to enrich their classroom studies with first hand experience. We are currently putting a trip for all levels to attend World Earth Day in Costa Rica, April 19th 2013. Al Gore will be speaking at the conference that MAC students have an opportunity to attend. See the Geography Office for details about this year's trip. The chart below outlines the trips for the academic year.
